PPWR applies generally from 12 August 2026, with important changes for some own-brand and import scenarios. It does not mean every Shopify store suddenly starts filing on that date. Businesses already subject to German system participation generally need matching quantities for their dual-system operator and LUCID.

PackRegistry is independent preparation software. It is not a regulator, dual system, authorised representative, auditor or law firm.
Does PackRegistry submit reports to LUCID for me?
No. PackRegistry prepares calculations and export files. You review and submit them through the applicable official workflow.
Does PackRegistry guarantee legal compliance?
No. The product makes packaging data more structured and reproducible, but merchants remain responsible for their legal position, registrations, contracts and declarations.
What store data does the reporting workflow need?
The design targets the minimum needed for auditability: commerce references, physical line items, quantities, fulfilment dates and destination country. It does not need customer names, email addresses, phone numbers or street addresses in the packaging ledger.
Do I need packaging weights before I start?
You need a defensible source for product and shipment packaging weights before a final report is useful. Supplier data, empty-packaging measurements and purchase specifications are all appropriate starting points; estimates remain visibly marked.
When will I be charged?
Installing is free. When you pick a plan, Shopify asks you to approve the subscription and the first 14 days are free. Founding DE is $19 per month, Standard DE is $39 per month, and Shopify handles the billing.
Is 12 August 2026 a new LUCID filing deadline?
No. PPWR applies generally from that date and changes responsibilities in some own-brand and import scenarios. German packaging reporting duties already exist for businesses within scope.
Which countries are supported?
Germany only for now: LUCID XML and a matching dual-system summary. The packaging data model is deliberately country-neutral, so further EU registers can follow, but we will only announce a country once its official format is validated to the same standard.

Privacy notice
Website data
This website has no sign-up form, no account and no advertising cookies. It records which campaign brought a visit, in that browser tab only, so that traffic from an ad can be told apart from direct traffic; that record holds no personal data and is discarded when the tab closes.
If you write to us
An email to the support address is used only to answer it. Correspondence is kept while the matter is open and is not sold or used for unrelated advertising.
Installed app data
Once PackRegistry is installed on a Shopify store it processes store data as well. The app requests read access to products, orders, fulfilments and locations, and stores what it needs to compute packaging masses: product and variant references, fulfilment and order references, quantities, fulfilment dates and the destination country. It does not store customer names, email addresses, telephone numbers or street addresses.
Why, and for how long
The data is processed to produce your German packaging filings and to keep them auditable: figures must remain reproducible from the evidence behind them, so the packaging ledger and finalised reports are retained while the app is installed. When the app is uninstalled the store's data is deleted within 30 days, and a Shopify shop redaction request deletes it immediately. Deletions are recorded so a request can be evidenced.
Where it is processed
The app runs on Fly.io in the EU (Frankfurt) with a managed PostgreSQL database and object storage for report artifacts. Access tokens are stored encrypted. The marketing site is served by Cloudflare. No store data is sold, and none is used for advertising.

PackRegistry is published on the Shopify App Store. Installing the app is free and does not create a subscription: a paid plan starts only once you select it and approve the charge inside Shopify, after a 14-day free trial. Product scope and pricing may change for subscriptions started later.
PackRegistry does not provide legal advice, determine a merchant’s obligations with binding effect, register merchants, enter into dual-system agreements, pay licensing contributions or submit declarations. Merchants remain responsible for reviewing data and filing with the applicable organisations.
